the possibility that an entire species might be; "destined for extinction" was the inspiration behind the title; "crossroads" - basically by definition; "a point at which a crucial decision must made that will have far-reaching consequences" - the little stone figure of the inukshuk represents man (human beings) being crucial in which path is chosen .....

encounter - verb - to unexpectedly experience or be faced with something difficult or potentially hostile .....

i usually paint in a series to explore an idea thouroughly, so "encounter" is the progression from "crossroads" in expounding on the idea that if we have indeed reached a "crossroad" with regard to our co-existense with our fellow inhibitants of this earth such as a polar bear, then what will we be able to report should we "encounter" that polar bear - can we say "sorry, but we´re going to do better" or will it just be; "sorry - you´re on your own"?

magic ... perfect muse!

magic ... perfect muse!

dorian cleavenger, lorenzo, jeff pittarelli, matt hughes, michael calandra, paul ballard und gina king sind kuenstler, die den meisten besuchern dieses blogs sicher bekannt sind. veronika kotlajic, auch als perfect muse bekannt, ist auf vielen ihrer arbeiten zu sehen.
da eine muse dafuer bekannt ist, den ein oder anderen kuenstler zu kuessen (ihr wisst schon ... rein aus kuenstlerischen aspekten) wollte ich den versuch starten, mich auch von ihr inspirieren zu lassen. nach der kontaktaufnahme mit veronika ist es nicht nur bei einem versuch geblieben.
ich muss gestehen, perfect muse ist die ideale bezeichnung fuer veronika.

this illustration was inspired by films like "wanted", or "the matrix", and features rendered elements done with 3d softfware, like the bullet.

additional layers are used for the background, the curved lines and the gun flare.
